The Colorado Disc Dogs are excited to host, as their season opener,
the Skyhoundz Western Open Qualifier, on Saturday, May 17, 2008 in
Thornton Colorado.
The Skyhoundz competition will be the main event at this year's
Thorntonfest, an annual festival that typically draws a large family
audience of more than 38,000 each year. This year's festival will
feature arts and crafts, business and non-profit exhibitors, a custom
car show, carnival rides, a great selection of food and entertainment
and much more! Thorntonfest and the competition are both held at the
Multipurpose Fields at 108th Avenue & Colorado Blvd. For a complete

To accommodate the public participants, the Colorado Disc Dog club
members, and the National teams all vying for an invitation to the
World Championships, the following divisions are being offered:
Freestyle/Combined
- Skyhoundz Expert - $10 entry fee
- Skyhoundz Micro Dog - $10 entry fee
- Skyhoundz Master Senior Dog
- CDD Open Freestyle - $10 entry fee Pairs Freestyle
- Skyhoundz Expert - $10 entry fee
- Skyhoundz Micro Dog - $10 entry fee
- Skyhoundz Master Senior Dog Distance Accuracy
- Skyhoundz Expert - $10 entry fee
- Skyhoundz Micro Dog - $10 entry fee
- Skyhoundz Master Senior Dog
- CDD Intermediate D/A - no entry fee
- CDD Novice D/A - no entry fee
The competition will begin at 8:00am, with registration starting at
7:30am. The preliminary rounds of all the divisions and classes will
be run simultaneously on two fields, with the secondary rounds slated
to begin before noon.
There will be a registration fee of $10.00 per entry for the Expert
and Micro Dog classes, as both these classes qualify for a chance to
attend the World Finals. All other classes are free of charge.

Before and after events:
Friday, 05/16/07 - "The Painting of the Fields"
Join us at the fields about 3:30pm and lend a hand setting up and
marking the fields. This is also a perfect opportunity to get your
tents set up in a prime location (yes, there IS overnight security
provided by the city).
Once the fields are marked, we will run the Time Trial Division for
any interested parties. Skyhoundz Plaques will be rewarded.

The Open Division (Skyhoundz Expert Open/Combined Division) consisted of one round of Freestyle. The top 6 teams then did and one round of Distance/Accuracy and a second round of Freestyle. Final score was FS2 x 2 + D/A.
